TAYLOR MOVING & STORAGE HISTORY
Taylor Moving & Storage began with Horace Taylor and one truck in rural Brighton in 1941. At that time Grand River was gravel and the city of Brighton virtually ended where Corky's Car Clinic now sits. During those early years Horace hauled everything from household goods, livestock, catalog furniture orders for Hudson's to drums of paint for the highway department.
In 1960 Horace built his first warehouse where Wendy's now sits. When the I-96 expressway was built in 1961 it put Brighton and Livingston County at the crossroads for growth and development. By the early 1970's Taylor Moving had become a full time household goods and commercial moving company.
With the need for additional storage space the current Hilton Road site was purchased in 1978 and a modern warehouse was constructed. In 1980 another 4800 square foot addition was built A growing market brought the need for a self storage facility that was added in 1987.
Taylor Moving & Storage continues today with a second generation in son, Brad Taylor. With multiple trucks now and thousands of moves later, Taylor Moving & Storage is still doing household moving along with an ever expanding variety of services. Current services include: local and long distance moving, residential and commercial moving, climate controlled storage, self storage, on site storage containers, automobile shipping, corporate relocation, custom packing and crating, retail packing supply sales, new product handling, and distribution.
